I really enjoy Nuit Blanche. Every year I actually get to take it in my creative juices are recharged. This year was no different. It was a bit chilly, but nothing a l’il Tim’s couldn’t fix.
I didn’t see a lot of the 200 installations, but enjoyed most of what I did see. I didn’t take a lot of pics either just took in what I saw. Enjoy.
EXHIBIT @ THE AGO
I am not sure if the AGO was opened for previous years, but what a special treat it was. To get to see some of the current exhibits and ones just for Nuit Blanche. In particular, there is a photo contest on right now. The four finalists have been selected and are on display. I didn’t make the cut this year …
One piece that caught my eye was by Nandipha Mntambo. I believe it is called “The Matador” or at least it should be in my opinion. Not only is she the photographer, but she designed the outfit and chose the set. I liked the piece before I knew anything about the artist and the story behind it. Learning about the artist and this photo all came together made me love it.
“I’m interested in uncovering that binary – that in-between space that you can’t always pinpoint or articulate.” Nandipha Mntambo https://www.aimiaagophotographyprize.com/artists/nandipha-mntambo
Traffic was intense, but TO’s Finest did a good job controlling the flow. This was a shot at University and Queen.
I am going to start sharing more. Let me know what you’d like to see more of. I have thousands of pics that have never seen the light of day and they all have a story behind them.
Have a picture perfect day. LKP
